We spoke to one of our Brick News VIPs, Matt Curtis, who is a part of the Melbourne LEGO Users Group and is hosting an exhibit at the event. When asked about how he got involved, he had this to say:

"My journey isn't that old from a LUG perspective, I joined in 2021 during the COVID lockdowns. I've always been a LEGO enthusiast and have been doing it my whole life. I've also attended several Brickventions, Melbourne's premier LEGO event held at the exhibition buildings in Carlton every January. Typically I'd say they get over 10,000 people attend over the course of a weekend. Seeing all the wonderful creations inspired me to take the next step and join up with the aim of exhibiting in the future. I joined the local LUG (LEGO User Group) being MUGs - Melbourne LEGO User Group.

I've been building small MOCs (my passion is Star Wars and Lord of the Rings) for a while now and thought it was the opportunity to put my skills to the test, which is why I am exhibiting at the Melbourne Brick Show."
