Review of Millennium Falcon 75375

ree

My son, who has just turned 9yrs old recently, received this very nice looking set for his birthday and has built it by himself. The 921 piece set is labelled as an 18+ set, but my boy never asked for help in completing it, and didn't get frustrated or give up on it either. I was wondering how he would go with it as, although he has played with LEGO for a long time now, he has in the past asked for my help with some sets.

He was quite interested in the mini 'stories' in the instructions too, as you can see in the photos there are hidden micro-scale scenes from the movies as you build. These scenes are promptly covered up by more of the building process and cannot be viewed anymore while the set remained constructed.

He also enjoyed turning the main crossframe of the ship into Kylo Ren's lightsaber!

If you are considering getting this set, for yourself or as a gift, then here are some good things about it:

  • It makes a great display piece, especially if you don't have a lot of space.

  • It seems to be an interesting build (from watching it come together as he built it), especially with the hidden micro scenes built into the ship.

  • It comes with a stand that you build, making displaying it easy to display, and which can be fairly easily removed if you wish to swoosh it around or display it a different way.

  • The external detail is great, it has nice angles, greebling for added texture, printed pieces to avoid poorly applied stickers, and the radar dish and gun turret can move a little too.

  • Not too difficult a build for those with building experience, you don't have to be an adult in order to construct this set.

It isn't minifigure scale, and doesn't open up to reveal any internal areas. It is part of LEGO's Star Wars Starship Collection, though it has more than twice the amount of pieces as many of the other sets in the series. LEGO claims this series is 'mid-scale'... though a lot of the collection are large ships, and the only versions of the Falcon that are smaller are the microfighters, a keychain version, the mini 4488 (2003), a bunch of other mini builds (in polybags or from advent calendars), and the midi-scale 7778 (2009)... so I might call the series small-scale series rather than mid-sized (with the majority of anything smaller being labelled as 'micro' for the largest scale ship in the collection), but that is taking a detour from the review so lets move on.

Australian prices have this set retailing for $149.99 in LEGO stores, though I would look elsewhere to save money unless you are after points or bonus gifts with the LEGO retail chain. Kmart has it listed as $129, and right now (19th December 2025) Big W has it on sale for $99 ($30 off their regular price). As always getting any LEGO on sale (or 2nd-hand if you don't mind that option) allows us LEGO fans to save money on this expensive hobby!

If any of you have been collecting the wave of LEGO's Star Wars Starship Collection, tell us in the comments below what you think of them as a series, or as individual builds... I'd love to hear your thoughts on them, as this Millennium Falcon is the only ship in our household from this collection.
