LEGO VIP Program to be Replaced

Starting on Monday, 21st of August, LEGO will be replacing its VIP program with 'LEGO Insiders', acting as their new global login system. In this article we'll be breaking down all the changes, new features, and everything else we know that will be occurring as a result of the change.

Accounts for all the following services will now be merged: LEGO.com.au, LEGO Life (app), LEGO Life (magazine) LEGO Checkout and LEGO Ideas. We're yet to see exactly how this will pan out, but it will certainly be useful to be able to log in to all these different websites with one login.

Continuing on, LEGO has advised that VIP program members will have all 'valid' points carry over to the new LEGO Insiders program. Customers will now be able to earn points by scanning QR codes on previously purchased LEGO set instructions and registering them to their accounts. You'll also still earn points when completing activities or making purchases on LEGO's official website. Existing VIP perks, including early access to sets, buying LEGO merchandise with points and exclusive member-only gifts with purchase will also continue.

Unfortunately, the terms and conditions on the LEGO website have not yet been updated to show what makes a VIP point 'valid'. If you've stockpiled points and are worried the Insider program may not carry them all over, or may not have the best rewards, you only have this weekend to spend them before the change takes over.

Ironically, despite being called the 'Insider' program, there's no mentioning of any insider knowledge being provided to customers that participate in this membership. Your best place to go for early LEGO news will continue to be fan websites, such as ours, to get early coverage far before LEGO makes an announcement.
