After images from a Malaysian airport surfaced online just days ago, LEGO has officially revealed the LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series: 75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser (yes, it's a bit of a mouthful, so we'll just call it the UCS Venator).

The set was estimated to be $1100 AUD, however, LEGO's website has revealed the pricepoint will be $1000 AUD, technically making this set slightly cheaper to buy in Australia than the United States at the time of writing. The set will cost $650 USD in the US, which is $1015 AUD.

In total, the set will come with 5374 pieces and will release on the 1st of October to LEGO Insiders. For anyone that is not a LEGO Insiders member, you'll be able to purchase the set from October 4th onwards. It will also be the first ever set to feature in three back-to-back draws on www.BrickNews.com.au.

While the set will be an amazing display piece, fans have been quick to criticise LEGO for 'cheaping out' on the Captain Rex minifigure, who is missing his waist-cape, evident in the Clone Wars and Bad Batch TV shows. Previous iterations of LEGO clone troopers have had waist capes, and a character in the recent LEGO DreamZzz lineup also has a waist cape. For a set that costs such a large amount of money, this is fair criticism.

If you're keen to pick this set up but are concerned by the large cost, we'd recommend holding off purchasing until the set goes on sale. Black Friday is on the 24th of November and some retailers may put this set on sale. Boxing Day on the 26th of December is also another likely day that the set will be put on sale. Recently, the UCS Razor Crest worth $900 AUD has been discounted down to $700 with certain retailers, so expect to see the UCS Venator drop to around $800 over the course of its life-cycle.
