75192 Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon

Writer: FraseFrase

Behold, one of the most awesome LEGO Star Wars sets of all time.

At 7541 pieces, the Millennium Falcon is tied with the UCS AT-AT as being the most expensive -at-retail LEGO Star Wars set. Source: LEGO.com.

Coming in at $1300 AUD, this goliath of a set is sought after by fans all over the globe. Since Brick News launched last month, we've been asked numerous times if this set will show itself in the monthly competition. The answer is yes - we've just purchased one (and you can too through our affiliate link, $150 off at the time of writing). We'll put this set in the monthly competition when we hit the 1000 subscriber milestone. Right now, we're at over 140, so if we continue at this pace, you'll see it in our monthly competition by the end of this year.

But why is this set so valued? So sought after? If you're not much of a Star Wars fan, you may have asked yourself this question. This iconic ship was the main vehicle of Han Solo in the original Star Wars trilogy - easily recognised by millions upon millions of people around the globe. The detail of the set, which is minifigure-scale, is superb, and the building experience is long enough to keep someone occupied for days, if not weeks. To top it off, the set looks beautiful on display.

Recently, we asked Brick News' followers on Instagram if they would be more likely to propose to their significant other if they were gifted the UCS Millennium Falcon by them. While some replies varied, most of them were a clear yes. Humorously, some users (such as @shanthhastir) suggested that they'd spend more time with their UCS Millennium Falcon than their significant other. Another user, @brookeamillss, said "I'm a chick but I'd still propose to him". All up, the vast majority of commenters were willing to either propose, or if they were already married, go as far as to renew their vows.

If you're dating a LEGO fan that also happens to be big on Star Wars, and you're wanting to take things to a new level, getting them this set may be the way to go... but wait! $1300 is a very large amount of money to spend when it comes to LEGO. Keep an eye on our website, when we launch the monthly competition with the UCS Millennium Falcon grand prize we'll be sure to let everyone know.
