LEGO Indiana Jones - All 2023 Rumored Sets

Writer: FraseFrase

With the international trailer for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny released just last week, we thought it appropriate to provide an update on the theme's rumored return. Initially reported by Max Bornicke at Promobricks, here's what's important:

* It's reported the revived theme will consist of 8 sets

* The Indiana Jones' minifigure will be equipped with his iconic shoulder bag and whip, however, it will feature a new hat piece with hair included in the mold

* 4 sets are reported to be redesigns of past sets, with 3 of those all but confirmed to be the Fighter Plane Chase from Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, Escape from the Lost Tomb from Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, and The Temple of Doom from (you guessed it) Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

* One of the 8 sets could be from Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, but it's likely the remainder of the sets will all be related to the Dial of Destiny

Speculating on what we saw in the trailer, here are several possible sets we could be seeing when the theme drops:

The Train Fight

An easy opportunity for LEGO to please both Indiana Jones fans and the LEGO train community, making a set featuring the train fight we see in the trailer seems like an obvious choice.

Minifigures that we'd expect to see in this set include Indiana Jones, Basil (a companion of Indi as seen pictured below) and Nazi Colonel Weber.

The US Parade Chase

In part of the trailer, we see a US Parade in which Indi is pursued by Klaber. There appear to be multiple chases shown in the movie, however this scene in particular seems like it would be an ideal set for LEGO to create. It has the potential to vary in size, whether they want to include buildings or part of the parade, or simply include some vehicles and the horse Indi is seen riding in the trailer. We would lean closer to believing this would be one of the smaller sets in the series and an affordable set for kids.

Minifigures we'd expect include Indiana Jones (old), Helena, Klaber and potentially some bystanders, grunts or other characters. It's likely we'd also see a molded horse included in the set.

Greek Temple

In the trailer, we're treated to a cool shot of the statue of Atlas, holding the Earth on his shoulders. While some fans thought that Indiana and Helena may have returned to the same temple as the one at the beginning of Raiders of the Lost Ark, it has quickly become apparent that this is certainly a different setting and the boulder is a statue of the globe, with the seven continents etched into it.

Once again, we'd expect to see Indiana Jones and Helena minifigures included if they did make a set featuring the below scene, but it's unclear what other minifigures would be included given the brief snippets we were shown in the trailer.

The Castle

Featuring some scenes with a de-aged Harrison Ford, we would be somewhat surprised if LEGO didn't create a set based on the huge castle shown in the trailer. A set based on the castle would likely be in the medium to high price range, with an opportunity for a larger build.

Minifigures included could be a young Indiana Jones, Doctor Jürgen Voller, and numerous soldiers.

There were a few other notable snippets in the trailer, including a medium sized fighter plane and an underwater area, but from what we've seen so far the scenes listed above would likely become sets featured in LEGO's Indiana Jones wave expected to hit shelves around June 2023. And for those of you itching to get your hands on those sets when they drop, we'll likely be featuring them in our monthly competition at that time. Stay tuned!
