LEGO 10316 Rivendell Offical Reveal!

Writer: FraseFrase

Following several huge leaks just a few days ago, LEGO has officially unveiled the first The Lord of the Rings set to feature minifigures in a decade. 10316 Rivendell will feature 15 minifigures, 6167 total pieces and retail at a whopping $800 Australian. LEGO.com.au VIPs can pick this set up starting on the 5th of March.

The minifigures included in the set are: Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, Meriadoc (Merry), Peregrin (Pippin), Bilbo Baggins (old and with reverse scary face), Gandalf the Grey, Boromir, Aragorn, Elrond, Arwen, Gimli and Legolas. There are also two random elves and an elderly dwarf included. Technically, there are more than 15 minifigures if you include the stone statues featured in the set!

Several rooms will be displayed in this set, including Elrond's study with the Shards of Narsil, an elven forge and there will be numerous paintings to show off the history of Middle Earth (including what appears to be the first ever official teaser of a Sauron minifigure in a LEGO set). The most iconic part of the set, however, is the table and seats forming the Council of Elrond, so that builders can recreate and display the scene just as it happened in the movie.

While the $800 price point is quite hefty, die-hard Lord of the Rings fans will not let their wallets prevent them from obtaining the set. And for Brick News fans hoping that this set appears in one of our monthly competitions - you're damn right it will! Keep an eye out for an announcement soon.

While we aren't permitted to show you here, there are leaked images online of the Barad Dur tower with the Eye of Sauron at the top. It's worth noting it's just a prototype build, but it came from the exact same leak that the Rivendell set came from and as we have just seen, it turned out to be entirely true. Even though the lord of the rings set looks good it seems to me that lego have up some of these sets prices since they announced sets for adults and changing the box art to suit us sure the box art is a little more expensive but take it a little bit more don't get greedy and

knowing we may pay a bit more than they could get out of 0ur children I really hope this is not the case guys
