BrickLink.com have announced the 5 designs from the second series, who have been chosen for crowdfunding as part of the BrickLink Designer Program. For those unaware, these sets have the potential of becoming a LEGO set if at least 3,000 people pre-order the set.
Crowdfunding for these 5 finalists will begin in June 2024; the prices will be decided prior to the crowdfunding period (which lasts for 3-4 weeks). A reminder that the series 1 finalists will be crowdfunded in February 2024.
You will only be able to order these sets through the BrickLink Designer Program site, you won’t be able to find these sets in stores. Pre-orders will also be limited to two of each set per household.
These are the 5 finalists of series 2 are:
Logging Railway, by ties25
The Ocean House, by Hanwas
Mushroom House, by JonasKramm
Ominous Isle, by jazlecraz
Brick Cross Train Station, by brickester
Logging Railway, by ties25
This set will include the train, the bridge and 3 minifigures. The trestle bridge reaches about 90cm in length and is about 25cm tall, while the train is about 75cm long. It has 2,706 pieces in total.
The locomotive ‘Toto’ is pulling a flat car with a generator, logging wagon, and a caboose.
The Ocean House, by Hanwas
Designed as part of a theme for a story written for their son, it sets the scene of a home set on stilts over the water with flowers growing across the roof, and seagulls nesting nearby. A small fishing boat and a cart add to the overall feel, and playability, of the set too. It has 2,157 pieces
Mushroom House, by JonasKramm
‘A small world in your garden’, this mushroom houses two Forest Elves. It has two furnished levels, a chimney, and a water pump outside. A standout feature is the visiting fruit merchant riding a snail. It has 943 pieces in total, so is the smallest of the sets… but definitely the cutest!
Ominous Isle, by jazlecraz
This one is an Aussie design, and is a pirate captain’s base of operations. Using 2,773 pieces to create a modular style setup, allows the isle to be rearranged in various ways using bridges to connect each of the islets. The set features a portcullis, secret passages, and of course treasure.
Brick Cross Train Station, by brickester
The largest of the finalists, with 3,034 pieces, represents a renovated train station with a glass roof, and a bar serving drinks and pastries. It is modular building compatible, has train tracks at the rear, and has removable roofs and hinged walls for access to rooms. It also has 8 minifigures.
