Bricklink Accounts Will Be Merged with LEGO Accounts Beginning in September

It's about time! Since The LEGO Company acquired the largest fan-made LEGO online marketplace in the world back in 2019, we've slowly seen changes hinting at a possible merge between Bricklink accounts and LEGO.com accounts. The biggest indicator being that with each Bricklink Designer Program purchase, customers are forced to log into their LEGO.com accounts to view their Bricklink Designer Program order history and tracking information.

Beginning on September 18th, Bricklink users will be able to merge their accounts with their existing LEGO.com accounts, or create a new LEGO.com account to link to. This change will occur just over two weeks before the next wave of Bricklink Designer Program sets become available for pre-order, which should (hopefully) optimise the customer experience when placing pre-orders.

The next wave (Series 6) goes live in Australia on October 7th 2025 at 1am AEST.

Users who do not link their Bricklink account to their LEGO.com account by December 31st 2025 will have their Bricklink account deactivated and anonymized, with no way to recover the account. If you do not want to lose your account data, we would strongly recommend merging your account prior to December so that you don't forget.

Important Changes

All good things come to an end, and that includes custom profile pictures. During the integration, users will lose the ability to have custom profile pictures, and LEGO will enforce pre-made images/avatars for you to select from. However, LEGO has promised to include some updated versions of past Bricklink avatars for those of you feeling a bit nostalgic.

LEGO will also phase out Bricklink usernames, and these will be replaced with LEGO.com usernames.

We'll likely see further changes in the near future, but LEGO is yet to provide further information surrounding the account merge initiative and changes to their Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. Keep an eye on the Brick News website for more LEGO news!

They’ll send out an email in September with steps to follow to link your accounts up.

Hopefully they'll also integrate the INsiders points into BrickLink so we'll get points when we buy from there too. I don't expect it, but I do hope for it.

It should also reduce the amount of spam on the forums too, as bots/spammers won't be able to make multiple accounts in nano-seconds.

Fingers crossed that all changes are for the benefit of the users and not Lego themselves...

Certain regions are already earning Insider Points on BrickLink purchases, but I think that might just be for the BrickLink Designer Program. I’d also love to earn points on all purchases…

To be honest, its not that surprising considering that you need to do something similar across their apps such as Lego Builder. A singular login for systems owned by them just makes sense.

It will makenit easier and probably gives them some good insights as to people's purchase habbits and how they relate to sets and the Bricklink Designer Program.

People will probably fear the worst but I suspect it comes down to costs maintaining two systems. I would love some VIP points on Bricklink purchases in the future 😊.

The bigger issue with Bricklink is the clearing of the pieces and classification that happened a while ago.
