Andor is the Most Popular Star Wars Show in Years, But Only Has Three LEGO Sets...

When Disney took over Star Wars, they were off to a decent start with their first two movies. The first film, Episode 7: The Force Awakens, performed well at the box office despite straying from the vision George Lucas had recommended Disney follow. Following that, Star Wars: Rogue One was released in 2016 and was an incredible hit, becoming popular among fans for its darker tone, great writing, and the epic Darth Vader hallway scene right at the end of the film.

Since then, the franchise has produced a large number of flops, with Star Wars: Solo and The Acolyte both losing millions of dollars. So, it may have caught viewers and toy companies off guard when Andor Season 2 received amazing reviews, and became the first TV show to ever have five episodes in a row receive scores of 9.5 or higher on IMDb.

Perhaps due to Disney Star Wars' poor performance in recent times, this is why LEGO has only produced two Andor sets - one for Season 1 and two for Season 2. This is despite the show having multiple action scenes, vehicles and interesting locations.

The two sets released for Andor Season 2 include the U-Wing Starfighter, which includes a slightly different Andor figure with a different hairpiece, Dedra Meero, an ISB Tactical Agent and the K-2SO Security Droid. The ship design looks cool, but as some fans have pointed out, LEGO's design of the ship forces the door to open outward, rather than opening sideways as it does in both the Andor series and in its appearances in Rogue One.

The other set released for Andor Season 2 is the buildable K-2SO Security Droid. In my personal opinion, the build from the neck down is an accurate portrayal of K-2SO from the series and Rogue One movie. However, the head looks out of place, with the eyes looking dull compared to the bright white we see on screen, and the jaw & mouth of the K-2SO just looks... off.

Overall, LEGO has massively missed out on the opportunity to capitalise on the success of Andor Season 2. Main characters such as Mon Mothma, Luthen Rael, Orson Krennic, Bix Caleen, Kleya Marki, Syril Karn and Bail Organa are all missing from sets this season, despite having a large on-screen presence throughout the show. There's also a large missed opportunity in LEGO not producing a set for the TIE Avenger Prototype from the beginning of Andor Season 2.

There is one extra Andor character you can pick up from outside of the Season 2 sets. Saw Gerrera is available as a bonus minifigure in the LEGO Star Wars: Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator set. This figure includes special printing and an armour piece, making it a great minifigure to pick up if you enjoyed Andor Season 2.

LEGO's lack of Andor sets is a big missed opportunity, but hopefully one that they soon capitalise on. More sets are definitely needed for this show, which has received incredible praise in recent weeks and catapulted Star Wars: Rogue One to the most watched movie on Disney Plus. If you haven't already seen it, I'd definitely recommend watching it!

Perhaps they were waiting to see how the show was recived. Additionally, we did get quite a number of Rogue One sets which mesh with this thematically.

I suspect as it is more adult in tone that they suspect that children would be less inclined to stream.

There are very few sets that you could realistically make out of this. Tie Avenger, perhaps an Coruscant Police Gunship or ISB drop ship could be made.

I anticipate future releases such as a Yavin 4 would incorporate characters from Andor in it. I imagine that the upcoming Death Star may sneak a few characters from Andor/Rogue One in there.

I agree that because of the more adult tone LEGO may have chosen not to create many sets for Andor. They haven't produced many Rogue One sets since the movie released back in 2016 unfortunately, hopefully that changes next year with the 10th anniversary. As for the sets they could make, these are the ones I thought of that would have made for great sets: * TIE Avenger * Luthen Rael's Fondor Haulcraft * Saw Gerrera's U-Wing Starfighter * Cavern Angel X-Wing Starfighter * Imperial Battle Pack (with ISB officers and riot shield imperials) * Ghorman Rebel Battle Pack * Speeder Chase on Mina-Rau I think you're right that future releases will include some characters from Andor/Rogue One. The Death Star rumoured to be releasing in October this year…
